The Aurora SBus Token Ring Adapter connects SPARC) systems to 4 and 16 MbToken Ring LANs. It can be used to link multiple Token Ring LANs and tobridge Token Ring and Ethernet LANs with the host SPARC(R) systemfunctioning as a multi-LAN router. Multi-protocol support, including on-board TCP/IP and optionally available SunLink SNA, seamlessly links PCs,workstations, minicomputers and mainframes over Token Ring. Ensures peakperformance Through firmware and driver optimization, the Aurora TokenRing card achieves over 95% link-level throughput. A 512 KByte I/O databuffer minimizes system load and ensures data integrity for consistentand reliable performance. IBM source routing support IBM source routingsupport with local ring addressing reduces Token Ring traffic. Itprovides frame broadcast prioritization which improves file access andapplication processing. Unshielded and shielded twisted pair wiresupport The Aurora Token Ring adapter comes with RJ-45 and DB-9connectors accommodating both unshielded twisted pair and shieldedtwisted pair wiring. Easy setup and administration The Aurora TokenRing adapter includes a suite of tools to simplify setup, minimizenetwork downtime, and save hours of troubleshooting. Board, network, andsystem diagnostic firmware and on-board LEDs help direct administratorsto the source of network faults. For added convenience, the diagnosticsare available at boot-up, or on-demand.
